One of the most special and spectacular events in Hajdúszoboszló, the New Year’s Eve 2025. will be held again on 31 December in the town square.
This celebration, based on a centuries-old tradition, commemorates a significant event in the history of the city: 1559. on 31 December our ancestors drove away the Turkish army threatening “Soboslo” with the sound of clashing clubs and the cracking of whips. In honour of this, the town square is still filled with people on the last night of every year.
During the evening, the traditional chase will be followed by a musical concert and spectacular New Year’s Eve celebrations, which will not only recall the past but also bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new.
