44th Kösely Cup & Horse Festival

The Kösely Cup, one of the most prestigious horse shows in the region, August 1-3. is waiting for the interested visitors. Since 1981, the event has been commemorating our Hajdú ancestors on horseback and the Hajdú traditions. In addition to the competition, the event will also feature a spectacular programme, local producers’ delicacies, a craft fair and a dance hall. Our aim is to promote the Hungarian horse breeds and equestrian culture, and to strengthen the national consciousness. The event offers great fun for the whole family.

The event will be hosted at the Hajdúszoboszló sports airfield, where party atmosphere, family programmes and other entertainment events will ensure relaxation. As our campsite is located in the immediate vicinity of the airport, camping guests will be exposed to the noise of the event. Please take this into account!
WINE AND GASTRONOMY FESTIVAL

Intoxicating wines and special gastronomic experiences await visitors to Hajdúszoboszló, where, in addition to quality wines and food, entertainment will be the main attraction between 19-21 September 2025! The event will showcase Tokaj and a number of excellent local wineries and restaurants. One of the most unique and spectacular events in Hajdúszoboszló, the End of the year New Year’s Eve party 2025. will be held again on 31 December in the town square.
This celebration, based on a centuries-old tradition, commemorates a significant event in the history of the city: 1559. on 31 December our ancestors drove away the Turkish army threatening “Soboslo” with the sound of clashing clubs and the cracking of whips. In honour of this, the town square is still filled with people on the last night of every year.
During the evening, the traditional chase will be followed by a musical concert and spectacular New Year’s Eve celebrations, which will not only recall the past but also bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new.

NEWS FAIR IN HORTOBÁGY

The Hortobágy Heart Fair is held to celebrate the feast of King St Stephen, the founder of the state, and the new bread. In keeping with tradition, a nationally renowned fair and folk art market awaits visitors to the Fairgrounds near the Nine Hole Bridge. In addition to a wide selection of folk, handicraft and organic products, antiques and modern conveniences, visitors can also get acquainted with traditional and regional food typical of the Hortobágy.
